Abstract
An algorithm is developed which finds the presented area of any "regular" shape. These "regular" shapes must be defined such that any straight edge in a convex face is common to two and only two faces; in other words, the shape has to be a polyedran with convex faces. These assumptions are not very restrictive when we realize that any non-convex face can be partitioned easily into several convex faces. Also if an edge is common to more than two faces there are some redundant faces. The following parameters are assumed given: The number of vertices (NO), the coordinates of these vertices (XO, YO, ZO), the connections in each face and the possible orientation of the inpact plan (phi = azimuth, theta = elevation).
