Abstract
The standard Canadian Forces survival sleeping bag and a prototype survival sleeping bag of different design were evaluated simultaneously using test subjects resting in the cold chamber at -23C. A series of tests was conducted to compare the thermal protection afforded by each type of bag. No significant differences between sleeping bags were found. Subjects preferred the prototype bag for ease of entry and exit.
