- Abstract
- Recent developments in the People's Republic of China have caused many, concerned with global issues, to re-appraise the potential effects of such a vast modernized state. Opinions vary concerning details but almost all China-watchers agree that should the PRC economic potential be realized, there would be a major re-orientation of world trade patterns; and, should the potential capability of the People's Liberation Army be achieved, the present bi-polar balance of forces would cease to exist.
