Abstract
The Staff Note is based on a talk presented as one of a series of ORAE Seminars - Winter 1979/80. The author presents his views of the role of an O.R. scientist in a computer system development. These views are based on three years of nearly full-time participation on a small project team developing the Base Static Automated Maintenance Management System (BSAMMS) for a feasibility trial at the Maintenance Company, 2 Service Battalion, CFB Petawawa.
