Abstract
A single-piece cartridge was developed for use in practice bombs having the non-incendiary all-weather capability of the presently used signal cartridges MK-51 and MK-402. Unlike the latter it contains its own primer and burster charge. Several hundred have been produced for environmental tests, long term storage and user trials. All test specimens functioned normally when dropped, even after long term storage and being subjected to a sequence of environmental tests. The test program also gave no incident of cartridge failing to meet the test criteria for safety and serviceability.
