Abstract
In any frequency-division-multiple-access (FDMA) satellite communications system the control of intermodulation noise must be considered if all signals are amplified by a single nonlinear power amplifier in the satellite transponder. The subject of the report is the use of Fourier-Bessel series expansion models in the prediction of the intermodulation performance of both travelling-wave-tube (TWT) amplifiers and solid state class C, UHF amplifiers.
