Abstract
The aim of the numerical code described in the document consists of predicting the thermally-induced steady state defocalization of a high power CW-CO2 laser beam propagating in a non-turbulent atmosphere in the presence of a uniform lateral wind. Given the characteristic parameters of the laser and of the medium of propagation, this model computes primarily the irradiance distribution in all planes perpendicular to the optical axis. However, additional results are easily accessible, such as the distribution of the index of refraction, the distribution of the angular deflection of the geometrical rays, and the distribution of the diffractional phase.
