Abstract
There is usually a strong correlation between the four spectral bands of LANDSAT images. The technique described here is a development of previous work and it enables noise to be minimized while the information from all four bands is concentrated sequentially into synthesized images. This procedure has wide application but it is particularly interesting for the study of lakes where there are gradients in the amplitude of one or several superimposed spectral signatures.
