Abstract
Paper discusses future roles of the Armed Forces and DRB in relation to three established Government objectives, the preservation of security, the protection of Canadian sovereignty, and the fostering of national development. An attempt is made to define the concept of Canadian sovereignty, and to discuss the range of social, economic and scientific factors involved in the concept of national development. Finally, possible roles for the Armed Forces and for DRB are listed and briefly discussed.
