Abstract
The paper summarizes the approach taken and presents the final results of the performance evaluation of Materiel Distribution Activity within the Canadian Forces. The objective of the study is to validate the current operation of the Materiel Traffic System (MTS). Sample transportation data were collected and the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire MTS were statistically inferred. With the lack of historical materiel traffic data, no comparisons could be made and trends in performance could not be ascertained. An alternate "early time" evaluation scheme was then used to quantify MTS performance. Areas in which the MTS might be improved are suggested.
