Abstract
In their paper on surface wetness of fabrics, Scheurell et al. note differences in the behavior of polyester and cotton fabrics when abruptly exposed to simulated sweating. They use color changes in cobaltous chloride as an indication of the moisture content at the fabric surface closest to the water surface and relate these observations to perceived comfort established by wearer trials.
