Abstract
The review presents a classification of the input functions for an interactive graphics system and describes the various types of hardware devices suitable for fulfilling these functions. Emphasis is on commercially available hardware such as potentiometric devices, light pens and tablets. The published results of experiments on device evaluation and performance are summarized, and the need for further more comprehensive evaluation is discussed.
