Abstract
This paper presents the preliminary analysis of underwater ambient noise recorded along the north shore of Barrow Strait at Devon Island, Nunavut, Canada. Two acoustic sensors were used: a JASCO Applied Sciences Canada Autonomous Multi-Channel Acoustic Recorder (AMAR) and the DRDC Starfish Sensor Cube (SSC). The acoustic data presented here were collected with the AMAR for a two-week period in August 2012 and with the SSC for a 5-day interval within the AMAR recording period. The data from the AMAR cover a bandwidth from roughly 10 Hz to 30 kHz, while the SSC data cover the band from 5 Hz to 750 Hz.
